How to deal with bad boss

Facing the problem of bad boss? My friend you are not an exception, all around the world employees are facing the same problem, you love your job, your colleagues are cool but your boss sucks, and it is terrible to deal with snobbish boss.

Recently a study disclosed that 52% employee find their boss inappropriate for their job, so all you boss, your position is not safe and it is really alarming, why employees are annoyed with their bosses, being a boss is not an easy task, and to reach to that post took a hard toll. Does this question ever come to your mind what is the reason of such dissatisfaction? Bad or inefficient management harms the reputation of the company, and at the same time it is not good for the human resource of the organization. Employees are the biggest asset of any organization, and a lot of unsatisfied employees are quite formidable situation for any organization.

Have you ever tried to analyze, why your boss in not a perfect boss in your view, bosses are also the normal human being like us, what are the factors that turns a good human being in to a bad boss. A person, bad at heart and mind can not be the perfect respected boss. If a person (boss) is incapable in handling his/her personal relationship, the negativity of unsatisfied relationship will surely show its bad effect on their professional life and outcome is bullying and over dominating boss. But the percentage of such cases are relatively low, in most of the cases boss is good as a person but terrible as the boss, it is more like right people caught in wrong job and the worse thing is they are not aware of this reality and are trying hard to put the example of an ideal boss.

To tackle your boss smoothly, you need to know the root cause of his/her unintentional problematic behavior. Learn to communicate: In this fast e-age we share information with fast speed, but barely communicate, you and your boss is fully equipped with all gadgets be it blackberry, mobile mail, blog, but in a hurry of sharing information we often neglect to communicate in more human way, the lack of human touch in sharing information has worsen the situation, boss and employee are connected to each other through wires, but no human strings are attached in this communication.

One of the fatal mistakes made by bosses are their micro management, trust your employee, let them take few decisions, too much intruding by boss, make job mundane and the results is non attentive employee.
Ambitious boss is good for company, but over ambitious boss can do irreparable loss, never ever try to put your overly ambitious projects on your employees shoulder. Let your employee create his or her own parameters. If one of your employees make mistake then it does not mean to show distrust to all the employee, don’t make generalized decisions on the bases of past experiences, but bad bosses often mix bad past experience with present and the end result is horrible future.

This lineage of bad boss ship is transferred from generation to generation; your boss is just trying to follow his or her boss, once your boss has also faced all this yelling and bullying and now he is trying to follow all these treacherous tricks to get the result from you. Leadership this small but powerful word is often misinterpreted by organizations, they talk about management, human relation, effective leadership, but neglect the basics of successful leadership management, that is human touch in management.

First and foremost try to assess your position in the organization, find out how many people are above you and why and how they have reached to this position, try to find out their goal and strategies, and compare how you are different from them and what are the points that keep them above to you. Try to lead people who are around you, make your own priorities, and try to fulfill all your set goal within the time and don’t forget the get the review and suggestions of your boss on your progress and goals.

Share your goals and objectives with your boss, make a priority list with your boss and don’t forget to get the prior permission of your boss before executing your priorities. Never say “NO” to your boss. If he comes with new urgent priority discuss with him, what is more important at that point of time and set your schedule accordingly. Concentrate on the work that comes under your work area, try to be best in your area, instead of intruding in new area, and make your position strong in your specialty.

Learn to deal positively to the changes that are out of your control, stubbornness shows your negative characteristic feature. Never ever get involved in bad mouthing, even if you are not satisfied with your boss, don’t get involved in bad mouthing with your colleague, learn to know more by people’s behavior, than by getting directly involved in bad mouthing. You boss is also a normal human being he or she is not all a bad, make a list of his strength and weakness, and try to concentrate more on his strength and try to reinforce more and more positive strength in your boss. Time plays very crucial role in your success; choose the right time to take right decision. Focus on your work according to your boss view if he emphasizes more on analysis and facts, be prepared with all information, if he is more interested in result, and show him results on time.

Show your credibility to your boss, abide to your words, and never make false commitments regarding work, show leadership behavior, the way you want your boss to be. If you are trapped in the web of truly impossible boss, avoid direct contact with him or her, make a strong supporting group with in the organization, try to make cordial relationship with the associates of your boss.
